Oh, Giuseppe – what are you doing to me? I would sell a kidney for these! Luckily the price isn’t that bad (although, it’s not cheap). As far as I’m concerned, whatever level of debt you need to go into is justifiable (kidding – sort of…). After all, a ponyskin and Swarovski combo is not something we see everyday, but looking at these, maybe it should be! The crystals make the flash of an ankle strap even more glam. And I’m all about zebra right now. It’s the black and white trend gone wild. Between that and my love of ankle cuffs, I’m convinced these came straight from shoe heaven. I do have one little grievance – the patent toe strap. It would be so much more flattering if it can across the foot, instead of just forming a peep toe. Hollywood has long been a source of inspiration for dreamers all around the world, but I have to say this is the first time I’ve seen its iconic white sign emblazoned onto shoes. They look like the kind of sandals Katy Perry would’ve worn in her California Gurls video – all she’d need to add would be a bra that shoots whipped cream and a blue wig. The ballet flat is such a classic that we don’t think to question how it could be better. Now Tieks has come along and reinvented the shoe for the on-the-go woman. I just ordered two pairs – the crackled rose gold Lovestruck and the nude lace. While I prefer neutrals like these that will go with most anything, the shoe is available in basically a million other colors (more like 46, but you get the idea) if something else suits your fancy. Just like Louboutin has his red soles, Tiek has their blue. It takes three days and more than 150 steps to create just one pair, so you know they’re great quality. The Italian leather flats conveniently fold up when you want to throw them in your bag (they come with little pouches). I’ve carried my Alaïa flats around Fashion Week for years.
