<p>Miranda Kerr attended a screening of The Great Gatsby in New York wearing <strong>Alexander Wang</strong> Antonia High Heel Sandals and a <strong>Vivienne Westwood</strong> Anglomania jumpsuit. These sweet summer shoes have padded leather straps and a crisscross at the ankle. They are the perfect neutral sandal to wear with anything your summer wardrobe has to offer. I love Miranda’s look here; minimal makeup, neutral shoe, floral jumpsuit sans jewelry. Simple, chic, and elegant, Miranda has been really stepping it up in the style department lately. I guess that’s what happens when you no longer have to wear handle bars around your waist while modeling lingerie as a teenager who comes up to your knee cap sings a song and dances hip-hop circ les around you. Life on the other side is looking pretty good for Ms.Kerr- or, let’s not forget, Mrs.Bloom. Pick these pumps up at <a href="http://www.shopbop.com/antonia-high-heel-sandal-alexander/vp/v=1/1500562128.htm?folderID=2534374302024643&amp;colorId=46478&amp;extid=affprg-2178999" target="_blank">Shopbop for $495</a>.</p>

<p>Not your average summer sandal, to say the least. The very least…Okay, come on, these are so sick, it’s making me crazy! The reason we love <strong>Alexander Wang</strong>? We’re looking at it right here. If you’re over gladiator sandals (and aren’t we all?) but still have a yen for a highly dramatic sandal that will ignite stares and conversation alike, search no further.</p>
<p>The only problem is, you kinda need to have calves that are just the right proportions, or else they won’t quite work. Too short and they’ll hit you mid-knee; too thick, they’ll cut in awkwardly; or too thin and the straps might buckle and flop. I don’t care. I’m getting them anyway. A pair of cage sandals this special doesn’t come along every day, and the design is just minimal enough, with sparsely placed straps, that you’re not going to just want to wear them once and be done. At <a href="http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=230863.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=8258&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.alexanderwang.com%2Fproducts%2F304112s13%2Faline-high" target="_blank">Alexander Wang</a> for $695.</p>
<p>UPDATE: I received them and the height of the calf strap fits perfectly on me! I&#8217;m 5&#8217;6&#8243; and high waisted so my legs are slightly longer than average. The straps hit right below my knees.</p>

<p>Rita Ora laced up some <strong>Alexander Wang</strong> Jill boots to wear to the <strong>Chanel</strong> Haute Couture Spring 2013 show during Paris Fashion Week. Combined with the bright red Chanel leather coat, Rita pulled off the couture-rock star style with ease. These downtown-chic rubber-soled boots have all the buckles, laces and edge a girl could ask for. The cut-out sides give you a peep of skin and the white bottom make these stand out in the crowd of hum-dum lace-up ankle boots. These would look great with anything from a pair of leather leggings and a silk top to a sweet black skirt and feminine lace button-up.</p>

<p>Manolo never left them behind, but pointy shoes are making a big comeback. They’re a staple now really, with rounded toes starting to look out of place and outdated even. One of my favorite things about pointed toes is that their edgy, modern aesthetic allows for a shorter heel without looking overly sensible. The sharp tip is so dangerously stylish it could get away with murder. Here are my top 5 pointers this season:</p>

<p>It can be scary to be the new kid on the block, so let’s show these new <strong>Net-a-Porter</strong> shoes some love by welcoming them into our closets. From casual white brogues to metallic high heels, there are fresh and versatile styles to fulfill all of our needs. Here’s the roundup of the shoes you just have to dig your heels into:</p>
<p><strong><a href="javascript:testNapCountry('http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254156.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6894&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F334810','http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254410.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6887&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F334810');" target="_blank">Valentino Crystal-Studded Suede Loafers ($895):</a></strong> This has been the year of the smoking slipper, and it’s best to go out with a bang! Sparkling silver is perfect for everyday on-the-go or to lend some shine to a holiday party outfit.</p>
<p><strong><a href="javascript:testNapCountry('http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254156.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6894&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F336298','http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254410.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6887&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F336298');" target="_blank">Nicholas Kirkwood Elaphe, Metallic and Patent Leather Sandals ($825):</a></strong> Hands down, the best part of this shoe is the unique elaphe snake heel, but the gold-trimmed ankle strap is fantastic for adding some sex appeal.</p>
<p><strong><a href="javascript:testNapCountry('http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254156.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6894&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F335847','http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254410.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6887&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F335847');" target="_blank">Isabel Marant The Bekket Leather and Suede Sneakers ($640):</a></strong> With wedge sneakers, less is more (with the color, not the height!). Isabel’s Bekkets use texture to keep things interesting, mixing leather and suede.</p>
<p><strong><a href="javascript:testNapCountry('http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254156.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6894&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F330695','http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254410.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6887&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F330695');" target="_blank">Alexander Wang Ingrid Croc-Effect Leather Brogues ($595):</a></strong> I love these shoes – relaxed enough to wear with shorts, but nice enough to pair with a skirt (it would be a great ‘50s throwback look, updated with a subtle croc-effect).</p>
<p><strong><a href="javascript:testNapCountry('http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254156.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6894&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F329797','http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254410.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6887&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F329797');" target="_blank">Burberry Rubber and Twill Wellington Boots ($425):</a></strong> It doesn’t get very snowy in Texas, so I tend to stick to rain boots. Burberry wellies are a favorite, and the belt on this pair gives them a nice contrast with gold metal hardware.</p>

<p>Thank god for <strong>Alex Wang</strong> – he gives us versatile pieces like these snake-effect peep toes at the absolute best prices. And no matter how much we all claim to love heels, the truth is that if there’s a pair of fierce wedges, we’d happily trade in our stilettos. These are pretty sexy, but if you pair them with a precious pink mini dress like this <a href="javascript:testNapCountry('http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254156.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6894&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F196812','http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254410.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6887&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F196812');" target="_blank">beaded organza <strong>Karl</strong></a> (exclusively on Net-a-Porter for $6,070), then you end up with a chic look that falls somewhere between edgy and baby doll. For something that plays off the boldness of the snake-print, throw <a href="javascript:testNapCountry('http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254156.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6894&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F334858','http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254410.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6887&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F334858');" target="_blank"><strong>Christopher Kane</strong>’s biker jacket</a> (on Net-a-Porter for $4,290) over a fitted, bright <a href="javascript:testNapCountry('http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254156.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6894&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F333822','http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254410.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6887&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F333822');" target="_blank"><strong>Donna Karan</strong> dress</a> (on Net-a-Porter for $1,995) – with some tights, this is perfect for a cold night out. But my absolute favorite look is with these <a target="_blank" href="http://gan.doubleclick.net/gan_click?lid=41000613802463936&amp;pid=00505020220440&amp;adurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.barneys.com%2FBalenciaga%2520Slim%2520Fit%2520Legging%2520-%2520Red%2520size%252038%2F00505020220440%252Cdefault%252Cpd.html%3Fzmam%3D51982951%26zmas%3D1%26zmac%3D1%26zmap%3D00505020220440&amp;usg=AFHzDLtWsiBReJa10YLbac5lz_CW6mOj3Q&amp;pubid=21000000000228114">red <strong>Balenciaga</strong> leather leggings</a> (at Barneys New York for $1,595). You’d think they would be the wild style you’d wear out to a <strong>Rolling Stones</strong> concert (or see <strong>Mick Jagger</strong> wearing onstage), but if you top them with <a href="http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=163081.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=3749&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.brownsfashion.com%2FProduct%2FCashmere_and_Silk_Jumper%2FProduct.aspx%3Fp%3D4730618" target="new"><strong>The Row</strong>’s color-blocked cashmere and silk sweater</a> (at Browns for $1,517.25), you’ve suddenly got a toned-down outfit that in the right fashionable office might even pass for work wear. <p>One of my shoe-snob rules of thumb: as tempting as it is to stock up strictly on decadent heels, you should always have a pair of flat boots that can go the distance in style and comfort. <p>Call it granny, call it geek, call it little-girl, or call it just plain wrong: white socks with chunky sandals have always been considered a sad mistake. This pairing has even been <a href="http://shanghaiist.com/2008/08/01/whatever_you_do_in_beijing_do_not_w.php" target="_blank">publicly warned against</a>! But anything and everything can have a fashion moment. What’s mocked becomes the look on the cool girl. It’s only a matter of time before certain frumpy faux pas become covetable trends. Looking like you don&#8217;t really care is always hip, as long as you do it with irony. Or take a cue from one of Phil Oh’s street-style shots, and go for badass decadence, via a glam red lip, sheer top-and-corset combo, Givenchy skirt, and closed-toe pumps.</p>
<p>Here, three ways to rock this kooky look…are you confident enough to pull it off?<span id="more-8146"></span></p>
<p><a href="http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=187350.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=5128&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mytheresa.com%2Fus_en%2Fraquel-leather-sandals.html" target="_blank"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-8148 imgShadowBorder" title="alexanderwang_antipast_marni_rochas_marialarosa_black_sandal_white_sock" src="http://www.shoesnob.com/sgmwp/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/alexanderwang_antipast_marni_rochas_marialarosa_black_sandal_white_sock.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="600" /></a></p>
<p><strong>1. <a href="http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=187350.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=5128&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mytheresa.com%2Fus_en%2Fraquel-leather-sandals.html" target="_blank">Alexander Wang’s Raquel leather sandals</a></strong> (on My Theresa for $332, from $553) are flat and comfy-looking. Which makes adding a pair of <strong><a href="http://gan.doubleclick.net/gan_click?lid=41000613802406231&amp;pubid=21000000000228114" target="_blank">plain shorty socks by Antipast</a> </strong>(at Barneys New York for $22) all the more jarring.</p>
<p><strong>2.</strong> A blonde wood sole ought to soften the look, at least a little. Try <strong><a href="http://www.lagarconne.com/store/item.htm?itemid=14440&amp;sid=178&amp;pid=" target="_blank">Rochas’ wood platform sandal</a> </strong>($347.50, from $695) with <strong><a href="http://gan.doubleclick.net/gan_click?lid=41000613802406148&amp;pubid=21000000000228114" target="_blank">Maria La Rosa’s ribbed anklet sock</a> </strong>(at Barneys New York for $75).</p>
<p><strong>3.</strong> Switch the look around and wear <a href="http://www.marni.com/item/store/MARNI/tskay/3FD17CD7/rr/1/cod10/44364104AJ/areaid//sts/" target="_blank"><strong>Marni’s Spring ’12 white sandals</strong></a> ($495, from $900), complete with a quirky cutout-wood heel, with their <strong><a href="http://www.marni.com/item/store/MARNI/tskay/3FD17CD7/rr/1/cod10/46228800XH/areaid//sts/" target="_blank">short stocking socks</a> </strong>($30, from $60)<strong> </strong>in black for an in-your-face contrast.</p>

<p>I suggest getting a leg up early on the competition this fall. The best way to do it: reaching up high for a knee- (or more intense yet, thigh-) grazing boot that announces your entering the season with a sense of strength and drama in mind. Here, the biggest high rollers of the moment:</p>
<p><strong>1. <a href="javascript:testNapCountry('http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254156.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6894&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F198643','http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254410.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6887&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F198643');">Christian Louboutin Interlopa 165 Fringed Suede Knee Boots</a><img src="http://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;bids=127413.10000004&amp;type=3&amp;subid=0" alt="" width="1" height="1" border="0" />: </strong><br />
There is fringe, and then there is Louboutin fringe. Two totally different embellishments, as far as I’m concerned. Case in point: the amazing swish of the Interlopa.<br />
On Net-a-Porter for $2,395.</p>
<p><strong>2. <a href="javascript:testNapCountry('http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254156.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6894&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F310032','http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=254410.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6887&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F310032');">Reed Krakoff Buckled Python Knee Boots</a><img src="http://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;bids=127413.10000004&amp;type=3&amp;subid=0" alt="" width="1" height="1" border="0" />:</strong> As if a leg’s worth of python isn’t enough to get you going, that skinny buckled strap makes this a boot that can’t be ignored.<br />
On Net-a-Porter for $1,995.</p>

And that back-strap detail? Hot.</p>
<p>Available for pre-order at Barneys New York for $1,200 (expect delivery in September).</p>
<p><strong>4. <a href="http://gan.doubleclick.net/gan_click?lid=41000613802404783&amp;pubid=21000000000228114" target="_blank">Gianvito Rossi Knee-High Boot</a>:</strong> I’m all for seeing red this season, especially when it’s polished off with leather lacing in a surprisingly sensual spot.<br />
At Barneys New York for $1,685.</p>
<p><strong>5. <a href="http://rstyle.me/h92gdpkqwe" target="_blank">Giuseppe Zanotti Over-the-Knee No-Heel Boot</a>:</strong> All of the leather-laden height and none of the heel, this is tall drama for the woman who loves all eyes on her.<br />

<p>I blame most of my bad-back issues to the pointy pumps I wore in the ‘90s. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop now, especially since they are back and better than ever! Two-toned and cutout, the 21st-century versions make for a great upgrade, while still keeping the precision-perfect shape in tact.</p>
<p>I especially love them contrasted against rolled-up and beat-up jeans, but whatever your fancy (like the cocktail take, as recently seen on Jessica Biel in Brian Atwood’s neon-pink Starlet pumps), a lean silhouette is seriously leg-slimming. The pointy pump makes even the sturdiest of legs appear graceful, so get ready to sharpen your shoes and soften your look.</p>
<p><strong>1. Gianvito Rossi Tassel Heel Pump:</strong> The crimson color is right-on, and there’s nothing like a bit of heel-detailing to spice up a classic.<br />
At <a href="http://gan.doubleclick.net/gan_click?lid=41000613802382206&amp;pubid=21000000000228114" target="_blank">Barneys New York</a> for $650.</p>
<p><strong>2. Givenchy Gold-Tone Accent Pump:</strong> Look to Givenchy for simplicity with some sass, like a traditional silhouette seasoned with flashes of gold hardware.<br />
At <a href="http://gan.doubleclick.net/gan_click?lid=41000613802382207&amp;pubid=21000000000228114" target="_blank">Barneys New York</a> for $690.</p>
<p><strong>3. Balenciaga Two-Tone Layered Seam Pump: </strong>Eighties inspiration goes modern with quirky lines and a mix of leather and suede.<br />
At Barneys New York for $655.</p>
<p><strong>4. Alexander Wang Lina Pump:</strong> The quintessential pump meets the sexy sandal. I’m loving the racy sense of exposure and even better, the plum ankle-strap.<br />
On <a href="http://rstyle.me/n/bnrukqwe" target="_blank">Farfetch</a> for $485.</p>
<p><strong>5. Giuseppe Zanotti Leather Pump: </strong>Leave it to the pointy pump to make glitter as chic as can be: high-shine with a hint of rock-star glamour.<br />
On <a href="http://rstyle.me/n/bnrxkqwe" target="_blank">Farfetch</a> for $455.</p>
<p><a href="http://gan.doubleclick.net/gan_click?lid=41000613802382206&amp;pubid=21000000000228114" target="_blank"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-7878 imgShadowBorder" title="Jessica+Biel+Jessica+Biel+Heads+Comic+Con+jR4SUC32RTXl" src="http://www.shoesnob.com/sgmwp/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Jessica+Biel+Jessica+Biel+Heads+Comic+Con+jR4SUC32RTXl.jpeg" alt="" width="396" height="594" /></a></p>

<p>If the prince swears he&#8217;ll marry nobody but the girl who fits this slipper, then I am out of luck. My damn fat feet are more Stepsisters&#8217; and less Cinderella. Without a doubt this dainty (but totally bad ass!!) slipper requires a Cinderella fit of slender and elegant feet. The standard is tight here, anything less than perfect will kill these shoes, in a completely destroy kind of way, not a &#8220;killin&#8217; it&#8221; kind of way. But oh, the effect when done right is fantastic. The pointed toe in mustard, offset with a grey ankle strap is as magical as those illusive glass slippers. At <a href="http://rstyle.me/n/6uimjq6" target="_blank">Saks Fifth Avenue</a> for $495</p>

<p>To quote vintage Carrie Bradshaw, the stylish white shoe can be something of an “urban shoe myth.” It’s so hard to find non-geriatric white shoes! But like Carrie’s obsessed-over Manolo Mary Jane, it can be attained – it just has to have the right elements.<br />
And just like with color, it’s all or nothing. There’s no in-between for me: sky-high or perfectly flat, please! (I have no place in my life for midway kitten heels. I make the commitment!) Bleached-out platforms are less clunky when they’ve been punched up with perforated details or cork wedges and quirky power pumps look hot in cool white:</p>
<p><strong>1. Topshop Whamm Espadrille Leather Wedges:</strong> Whamm is right! White leather and espadrille rope doesn’t exactly sound like a recipe for a high-impact shoe, but this platform packs heat.<br />
At <a href="http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=189460.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=8372&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fus.topshop.com%2Fwebapp%2Fwcs%2Fstores%2Fservlet%2FProductDisplay%3FbeginIndex%3D0%2526viewAllFlag%3D%2526catalogId%3D33060%2526storeId%3D13052%2526productId%3D4990662%2526langId%3D-1%2526sort_field%3DRelevance%2526categoryId%3D208692%2526parent_categoryId%3D208581%2526pageSize%3D200" target="_blank">Topshop</a> for $130.</p>
<p><strong>2. Alexander Wang Multi-Strap Leather Shoes:</strong> Crisp and pointy-toed, Wang’s is a sharp favorite. The curving heel and unexpected straps keep the stark shade from looking severe.<br />
On <a href="http://www.antonioli.eu/products/17858-alexander-wang-shoes?gen=women" target="_blank">Antonioli</a> for $1,119.</p>
<p><strong>3. Alice + Olivia Jana Slingback Laser-Cut Leather Wedge Sandals:</strong> Even though they give a nod to Granny’s doilies, these platforms are anything but old-school. Lacy detailing looks funky on a chunky yet shapely wedge.<br />
At <a href="http://rstyle.me/gdgby4kqwe" target="_blank">Saks Fifth Avenue</a> for $280.</p>
<p><strong>4. Chloé Criss-Cross Wedge:</strong> With a nod to the Summer of Love, these freewheeling sandals have a vintage vibe – perfect for this summer’s gypsy-inspired patterns.<br />
At <a href="http://gan.doubleclick.net/gan_click?lid=41000000030034435&amp;pid=00505015056689&amp;adurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.barneys.com%2FChlo%2526%2523233%253B%2520Criss-Cross%2520Wedge%2520-%2520White%2520size%252010.5%2F00505015056689%2Cdefault%2Cpd.html&amp;usg=AFHzDLtK5sDrPgwu-CmhOMyGsPkC3g65nw&amp;pubid=21000000000228114" target="_blank">Barneys New York</a> for $895.</p>
<p><strong>5. Balenciaga Arena Thong Sandal:</strong> I love Balenciaga’s thongs for summer jaunts. Skinny straps and hearty hardware make for an effective outcome, especially in easy white.<br />
At <a href="http://gan.doubleclick.net/gan_click?lid=41000000030034435&amp;pid=00505015029546&amp;adurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.barneys.com%2FBalenciaga%2520Arena%2520Thong%2520Sandal%2520-%2520White%2520size%25206.5%2F00505015029546%2Cdefault%2Cpd.html&amp;usg=AFHzDLt88ZJv8_l2REYL4r6ruvQcywSDyQ&amp;pubid=21000000000228114" target="_blank">Barneys New York</a> for $595.</p>

<p>This summer, there’s no excuse not to dive right in. Even if water sports aren’t your thing, I suggest you try dressing the part – rough-and-tumble energy is sure to follow. Whether you opt for a stiletto that merely takes inspiration from those who venture deep under the sea or you snatch up a sandal that’s begging to go to the beach, water won’t be far from your toes this summer, even if that’s about as much as you like to dip!</p>
<p><strong>1. Christian Louboutin Snorkeling 100 Neoprene and Leather Ankle Boots:</strong> Louboutin’s juicy citrus take on scuba is particularly appealing for fashion daredevils. His amped-up neoprene looks super-saucy and surfer-cool.<br />
On <a href="javascript:testNapCountry('http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=206135.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6895&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F192369','http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=205736.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6888&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F192369');">Net-a-Porter</a><img src="http://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;bids=127413.10000004&amp;type=3&amp;subid=0" alt="" width="1" height="1" border="0" /> for $895.</p>
<p><strong>2. Loeffler Randall Fawn Sandal:</strong> A raffia-lined flat is a chilled-out way to inject the theme. With leather straps, this sandal doesn’t take the trend overboard.<br />
At <a href="http://gan.doubleclick.net/gan_click?lid=41000613802307399&amp;pubid=21000000000228114" target="_blank">Barneys New York</a> for $295.</p>
<p><strong>3. Givenchy Jelly Sandal:</strong> I’m wary to tread back to jelly territory, but Givenchy’s frugal find puts an ironic twist on the rubber sandal. Military green and zipper texture mean this jelly is for tough girls who like to get wet.<br />
At <a href="http://gan.doubleclick.net/gan_click?lid=41000613802307600&amp;pubid=21000000000228114" target="_blank">Barneys New York</a> for $190.</p>
<p><strong>4. Camilla Skovgaard Indochine Leather and Patent Wedge Sandals:</strong> These make me want to splash around in the Caribbean ocean, stat. True turquoise takes you to the tropics, while padded straps bring comfy athleticism.<br />
On <a href="javascript:testNapCountry('http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=206135.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6895&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F191327','http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=205736.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6888&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F191327');">Net-a-Porter</a><img src="http://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;bids=127413.10000004&amp;type=3&amp;subid=0" alt="" width="1" height="1" border="0" /> for $600.</p>
<p><strong>5. Alexander Wang Bianca Runway Fishskin Sandal:</strong> “Parrot fish leather” sounds as exotic as these sandals look. With airy cutouts and an even airier shade, these merge the breeze with the sea.<br />
At <a href="http://rstyle.me/g6zxg4kqwe" target="_blank">Bergdorf Goodman</a> for $995.</p>

<p>I can’t help it. I’m getting all nostalgic for the early nineties today! Blame WWD and their article on how grunge is returning big time for fall. I was there the first time, scampering around the college campus in Doc Martens and layered slipdresses (with a Chanel bag on my arm at all times! I never said I was an actual kinderwhore!), so I’m not exactly all about going back to glamorous ragamuffin dressing. But I am feeling some of the of-the-moment shoes inspired by the era! There is something to be said for how much I adored my chunky platform Mary Janes…</p>
<p><strong>1. Dolce &amp; Gabbana Leather and Mesh Biker Boots:</strong> Forget old-fashioned Frye. Take your biker boot with a splash of sex appeal. See-through mesh puts a new spin on the mannish look so you won’t be too retro.<br />
On <a href="javascript:testNapCountry('http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=206135.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6895&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F180410','http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;subid=&amp;offerid=205736.1&amp;type=10&amp;tmpid=6888&amp;RD_PARM1=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.net-a-porter.com%2Fproduct%2F180410');">Net-a-Porter</a><img src="http://ad.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/show?id=9RQByRmBmGU&amp;bids=127413.10000004&amp;type=3&amp;subid=0" alt="" width="1" height="1" border="0" /> for $875.</p>
<p><strong>2. Chloé Multi-Strap Mary Jane Pump:</strong> Just enough chunk, a girlish round toe, and straps to spare turn a demure concept into a dangerous-looking shoe.<br />

<p>There’s no doubt about it: <strong>Alexander Wang</strong> is maturing and nothing tells the story of his unstoppable growth like his shoes. For spring, the grungy downtown tomboy has evolved into the savvy, pavement-pounding lady – she’s still a bad girl, but it’s disguised beneath a veneer of polish.</p>
<p>These sandals and pumps are stark and sleek, architectural and modern. Yes, the design revolves around the clean, vented straps, but it’s just as much about the negative space that has been created. No matter what your style (whether refined badass or lady, through and through), you’ll find multiple occasions for the adaptable <a href="http://gan.doubleclick.net/gan_click?lid=41000000030034435&amp;pid=00505016033467&amp;adurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.barneys.com%2FAlexander%2520Wang%2520Nadia%2520Sandal%2520-%2520Black%2520size%252010%2F00505016033467%2Cdefault%2Cpd.html&amp;usg=AFHzDLuzPggIMz57tk0LyQuUf03eT-k99A&amp;pubid=21000000000228114" target="_blank">Nadia sandal</a> ($525), from laidback afternoons to dinners out. On the other hand, the <a href="http://gan.doubleclick.net/gan_click?lid=41000000030034435&amp;pid=00505016033702&amp;adurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.barneys.com%2FAlexander%2520Wang%2520Joan%2520Mule%2520Pump%2520-%2520Parchment%2520size%25206%2F00505016033702%2Cdefault%2Cpd.html&amp;usg=AFHzDLtixPwfoG3z0ut21IEQwYVqEYBEcA&amp;pubid=21000000000228114" target="_blank">parchment-pale Joan mule</a> ($545) requires precious steps to keep the white <em>white-white</em>. You can&#8217;t veer from the path with this crisp number – one streak of dirt will just look sad – which is reason enough for me to nix it and stick with Alex’s not-so-basic black.</p>
<p>Available for pre-order at Barneys New York (expect delivery in March).</p>
