Ladies, put away your exaggerated platforms! And that goes for all you wild young things, too. Thanks to a steady stream of pointy pumps, the anti-chunk storm has been brewing for some time, and now the Tabitha Simmons for Peter Som‘s Spring 2013 collection marks a new era in feminine shoe-dressing.
It’s all about the details! Gold-tipped, harnessed, strapped, and pointy, these pumps and sandals have enough joie de vivre to complement Som’s sexed-up modern lady, who loves her florals in the form of bum-baring hot pants and her almost-modest peplum-skirts set off by a midriff-flashing bustier (note to self: add more crunches and squats to workout). Yes, this uptown girl might have gone decidedly downtown if not for Simmons’ artful array of flowery, almond-toe pumps, some cap-toe for a more refined take, others imbued with youthful edge via thick ankle-straps. It’s straps, metallics, and patterns galore, but it’s all somehow unarguably unfussy – just like the classy, sassy Som girl herself.
