The most enjoyable evening for me during NYFW earlier this month was attending an intimate dinner at Barneys New York hosted by Mark Lee, Brooke Shields and Christine Quinn celebrating the success of the Perfect Pairs campaign, Since July, Barneys has collected more than $340,000 in donations to the Human Rights Campaign’s Americans For Marriage Equality Program! This is a cause near and dear to my heart (though I don’t know why it should even be a public issue. Whom we choose to marry is a private and personal decision and should not be dictated by men in ill-fitting suits!), and I was honored to be included in the celebrations. The swanky dinner was held at Barneys New York on Madison Ave on the beautiful new shoe floor (22,000 square ft of shoe heaven– if you’re a shoe snob you must make a trip to the flagship store asap!). I loved the “perfect pairs” theme of the night, even the passed hors d’oeuvres were in pairs (caviar and vodka shot pairing was the crowd favorite!). At dinner, we noshed on perfectly paired wines and dishes (surf & turf!) and ended the evening with a performance from Estelle. Best part of the entertainment was a surprise dance performance from Simon Doonan who joined Estelle on stage. And true to the night’s theme– they were, indeed, the perfect dancing pair!
