Jimmy Choo Spring 2013 Collection: Flower (and Platform) Power
By Shoe Snob Tina
September 12, 2012

I might be matching my shoes to my bag, old-school style, once Spring rolls around. How can I not be tempted to get all ladylike about it when Jimmy Choo’s new floral is so deliciously bright, so decadently exaggerated, so impossibly modern? The point is, this pairing will look wild, not stuffy. And in python?! Done deal! These exotic peep-toe booties, with Chelsea boot-style paneling, are just tough enough to bring maximum life to an already-lively flower pattern. Which means, along with the clutch, they’ll breathe life into a tired wardrobe.
Other styles out of Choo’s latest collection are on the subtler side, at least in terms of hue. The stilettos may be sharp and lean, but sexed-up platforms make a heady statement: these Mary Janes and cigarette heels are for the man-eater who likes a big, notice-me shoe. The Tenzin comes in nude patent leather jolted with electric blue, while the Petra’s thick python soles are set off with nude suede. By now, Choo knows their customer like an old friend, and they know she wants to feel all-woman. They also understand when to push the boundaries and when to hold back.
