Top Shoe Collaborations: Collaboration Nation
By Shoe Snob Adam
August 9, 2012

Does anyone else feel like all we hear nowadays is the word ‘collaboration’? Okay, I thought so. Everybody’s collaborating with somebody, and the results run the gamut from incredible to not so incredible. That said, some of the most incredible collaborations have been in footwear, and for BOTH women and men. In the past, the women’s have gotten more attention, like Toms x The Row, but recently that’s changed:

One of the biggest collaborations for men lately has been the partnership of artistic house Kenzo (fueled by what is Opening Ceremony), and Vans, everyone’s favorite cool kid shoes. While these aren’t exactly designed for a skateboard rider, they are perfect for anything, anytime, and will certainly brighten up even the most miserable of days. The first edition of shoes also sold out almost immediately…

My assistant pointed out another super sick collab that I’m dying over: A.P.C. x Nike. These super chill sneakers are just what the doctor ordered for maximum chicness. Besides being (I’m guessing) extremely comfortable, the attention to detail is spectacular, and the quality is top-notch. This snob is looking forward to seeing these on his feet on August 30th.

I’m a huge fan of slippers (I think they’re just so mature and gentlemanly), and Del Toro is one of the best when it comes to them. Well, they just upped the ante and ppartnered with current rapper-cum-all-around awesome dude, Theophilus London. The slippers, emblazoned with a rose flanked by golden stars are going to be at every party from New York to Bangkok. Hey, the world’s your oyster…
On Del Toro for $360.

My final favorite collaboration is actually for a shoe I usually don’t care for: Sperry Top-Sider x Band of Outsiders. Maybe it is Band’s participation, but I love them! The classic boat shoe, trimmed in suede, is reimagined and even preppier than before.
On Mr. Porter for $175.

The Kenzo x Vans shoes are sharp! Are there any for women?
