Every other designer may be following suit, but Charlotte Olympia is no dark mistress. Proudly bucking the trend for all things black, self-possessed Charlotte beats to her own colorful drum. It looks like Cruise brings out even more flavor in the shoe star; she’s serving up more delicious (if dizzying) high heels for Resort 2013.
The silhouettes, ranging from her trademark Masako pump to the knotted-and-platformed Miranda, somehow look more modern than ever, with just enough retro attitude to feel romantic. But it’s impossible not to be blissfully distracted by the colors and patterns.
Get ready for a ribbon print more festive than an explosion of New Year’s Eve confetti. The famed Dolores pump now sports a fifties-style Brazilian motif (clearly a nod to the heritage of her mother, Andrea, a successful model in the ‘70s). And the Serena sandal shines with a quartet of vivid brights (trust me, it’s no easy feat to make four colors look chic on one shoe!). Who could succumb to basic black when the rainbow is this captivating?
Available for preorder on Moda Operandi until June 15th. Prices range from $495-$1,095.
