Natural gone knockout! Proenza Schouler went retro-fabulous for Spring 2012, with A-line eel-skin skirts, wild wallpaper-esque florals, and inspiration taken from side-of-the-road diners. But it’s these shoes that are the clear winners in my book. This is an edgy breed of earthy chic – there’s nothing granola about this sandal!
The contrast of ultra-smooth leather against pebbled cognac is genius. With strategically placed cutouts, these neutrals are genuinely exciting. And that curvy, stripy wood platform – it’s out of the coolest rec room I’ve ever seen. It all reminds me of 1950s modern-Googie architecture (which is exactly what Jack and Lazaro were going for) – can’t you picture these looking fantastically glam on a kitsch shag carpet?! At Bergdorf Goodman for $1,380.
Pair with: Go full-throttle with the look and wear Proenza’s summery halter dress, in a decorative fern pattern with sleek black paneling. At Barneys New York for $1,450.

I think they are terrible….I know many will love them,
