Ruthie Davis Boot: Seventh World Wonder
By Shoe Snob Tina
February 29, 2012

Ruthie rightfully calls this extreme creation the “Gaga shoe.” I call it my dream. Out of her Fall 2012 collection, at a solid seven inches high, it means I’ll be almost 5’8″ in these ankle boots. As outlandish as it may sound, I will also be comfortable – and more importantly, maintain the ability to walk without the assistance two servants. (Like the ancient Romans who literally teetered on stilts. The things we do for mile-long legs!)

Ruthie Davis is as renowned for her shoes’ shocking heights as she is for their shocking level of manageability. Fashion and function that looks like pure fashion. This heel is actual solid wood, so your foot is totally supported and with a 3.5″ platform, it’s like wearing 3.5″ heels. Maximum height with minimal anguish. Come fall, when these are available at Ruthie Davis.com in both black and camel, I’ll be treading lightly and standing tall!

Pair with: I’ll be keeping it long and lean with Preen Line’s Rock leather and stretch-crepe pants, in a cool shade of glistening navy. On Net-a-Porter for $695.
