What shape strikes your fancy? Milan Fashion Week ran the gamut for Fall 2012, from way out-there funkiness to the classic platform boot to the S&M-tinged ladylike pump. Whether you’re in the business of pleasure or taking pleasure in business, the new season is shaping up to suit you. Which of these three very different silhouettes speaks to your feet?

1) Prada: The curvy, swervy heel of this past year is not going anywhere! Remember Lady Miss Kier from Deee-Lite in the early nineties? Well, it looks like groove is back in the heart. These wacky platform Mary Janes will either speak to you or not – there’s no middle ground here. They’re a little witchy in their exaggerated shape, but I have to admit: they kind of make me want to get up and dance.

2) Moschino: Fun, flirty, and actually wearable! Ever-playful Moschino delivered hot-to-trot ankle boots and strap-happy Mary Janes, with just enough gold, military-esque hardware and just enough platform layers that will go with everything come fall. Especially the brand’s mix-and-match black-and-white checks and sporty paneled leggings.

3) Etro: Etro delivered simultaneous structure and softness. Leather peplums, shots of fur, classical paisley prints, and panels of velvet were all in the mix, but it was the shoes that were the most sensual. The mix of corset-tight laces and pointy-toed satin is undeniably sexy, and an olive croc-embossed boot is a no-brainer to strap on. These are high-heels for the grown woman; girls interested in playtime need not apply.
