Miu Miu Resort 2012 Shoes: Sparkle On…and On…and On…
By Shoe Snob Tina
November 15, 2011

Miu Miu charges ahead on their bright path of irresistibly glittering shoes for Resort 2012, and who can blame them? Their sandal-effect Trompe d’Loeil bootie put sparkly shoes on the map this season – and was the most-worn shoe of this past Fashion Week.

Now they have changed it up a bit, but the styles are as twinkly as ever. They’ve also injected their massively popular Lucite heel into the cocktail.

Is a silver-glitter sandalicon ($990), shining like a disco ball and trimmed in metallic gold leather, overkill once you’ve added a heavily bejeweled heel? Not for the die-hard, trend-loving fashionista who would never utter the words, “less is more.” No, less is just less – and these are lots!

Or elect a more controlled dose of sparkle with the slightly nuanced T-strap styleicon ($990). Blush-nude and black suede mellows it out a bit. Take it into genuine seventies territory courtesy of a retro-inspired wedgeicon ($650)– red suede and black glitter makes for an interesting twist that can carry you from holiday parties to resort-wear fun.

From Miu Miu, the message is loud and crystal-clear: never, ever stop sparkling.
