Dita Von Teese’s Shoe Style: What Would Dita Do?

Modern day pin-up and burlesque queen Dita Von Teese consistently puts a new spin – or shall I say enchantingly old? – on daily dressing. Her recent vintage-based look while out shopping at Fred Segal in LA this week (seriously, who has the guts and savvy to dress like this for a day of shopping?) is single-handedly enough to inspire some more glamorous summer shoe choices than your typical strappy sandal or espadrille wedge.

Anastasia Bice‘s pale turquoise-on-leopard print bow pumps ($513.60) are fit for the modern Vargas girl; Dita would wear them with a match aqua-blue wiggle dress, no doubt.

Nothing says “retro vixen” like red patent-leather peep-toes – Miu Miu‘s ($650) are embellished with a big bow and even bigger heel. The lady loves her pumps, but Giuseppe Zanotti‘s python-embossed leather platform T-straps ($595) are also out of another era. Feeling casual? Christian Louboutin‘s gingham peep-toe kitten heels are Dita’s version of a flat. And Charlotte Olympia makes shoes for nostalgic women who love their high-high heels; her sky-high “Dolores” heel ($1,002) with espadrille “island” platform and delicate ankle strap would be Dita’s vacation shoe.

So the next time you reach for your comfy flats, ask yourself, “What would Dita do?”

  1. I’m always in heels, so I keep a pair of flats in my bag when I start getting back pain. But I never wake up with an urge to wear flats! lol

  2. Gosh Dita really is amazing. I would love to dress like her. Love the gingham and the leopard print.

I love heels, but sometimes flats are just cute as a button and comfortable as hell.
