High on the heels of its runway success Rock Stud collection, Valentino greatly expanded its said offerings for pre-fall, applying the metal studs generously–but not in an overboard manner–to a wide assortment of shoes and bags (see Bag Snob entry for more details). The signature studded slingback is back–this time with a new ankle strap–in both patent leather and python form. There’s also a beautiful ankle boot that features the studs running up the front in a linear pattern. Another pair that is beautiful is a peep-toe sandal with a chic leopard print that boasts an oversized side buckle that infuses a masculine touch. One of my favorite pairs is actually far from the typical Valentino aesthetic. The red satin sandals, set on a reasonable heel, features stunning embellishment in a latticework across the toe area.
