Khloe Kardashian was recently spotted wearing these killer heels and she proves that they’re as versatile with skinny jeans as they are with evening gowns and miniskirts. The double buckle is sure to keep the foot secure, as does the double straps around the ankle. While I love the overall shape of the shoe, their profile is what I find most appealing. It’s simply a stunning silhouette! There’s a fine line between hooker shoes and sexy heels–and these Louboutins straddle that fence toward the latter, I can happily say.

I need the Lanvin Ankle-Wrap Wedge Canvas Pump. NEED. The peep toe with grosgrain ribbons and snake-print canvas with wooden panels is literally my dream warm weather shoe. With the elegance of a ballerina slipper, I would wear this with a casual tunic or a sexy strapless sheer number for a sexy little date with my main squeeze and twirl around pretending I can dance.

Sometimes you need to step it up in the sandal department. Wedges can sometimes look clunky, heavy and even sloppy, but not these glam beauties. Chic, classy and oh so classy, these will take you from the beach to a night on the town.

I’ll be the first to say I do like Charlotte Olympia’s shoes–her collaboration with Peter Som for his recent runway show produced gorgeous results–but I’m at a loss for words for her clearly playful take on a classic wood platform pump. Obviously this isn’t an everyday shoe; I can already see it on the Neiman’s Last Call rack come June. No doubt some wacky celebrity like Katy Griffin or perhaps style icon Anna Dello Russo will sport these (if the latter did, however, I have no doubt it would look incredible). My point is: while many will ooh and aah over these shoes, the incredible majority won’t realistically open their wallets to purchase these. These are fruit shoes! Maybe if your last name is Del Monte you would. But I’ve got to give Charlotte props for her imagination and gusto.

Modern, bold and comfortable. Rarely do such adjectives come together as brilliantly as with this graphic Chloé colorblock wedge. Note the gorgeous all-leather 4.5″ platform wedge sandal with ankle cuff buckle closure. It’s rare that I recommend a wedge, but I love the bold black-and-white color combination along with the soft, curved lines. I wouldn’t necessarily pair these with floral, print happy summer dresses, however. These would look super chic with a safari dress or black cigarette pants. My sole (pun not intended) concern is that the white leather will scratch and dirty before you’ve even walked out the front door. Unlike a Ferrari, these shoes will not increase in value over time. But if you’re careful–and don’t live in Manhattan–then you stand a good chance of being able to wear these for summers to come. My recommendation? Have an excellent leather cleaner on speed dial.

Okay, there are a few times in my shopping life where I have just been smitten over something I can’t get it out of my head. It’s like when you have a crush on someone and you doodle their name on paper and daydream about running in fields towards them with slow romantic music playing in the background…

He’s back! Having shuttered his namesake line a handful of years ago to concentrate on being creative director at Sergio Rossi, Edmundo Castillo has moved on–and returned to his original pursuit: designing his own vision. While a full collection will launch in February (I’m counting down the days), Castillo has released this tantalizing “Light” sandal inspired by the Disney film “Tron Legacy.” In keeping with the film’s sci-fi bend, Castillo infused electroluminescent lamp material (the same used in the construction of the “Tron Legacy” costumes) that, once the thread is plugged in, activates the blue LED lights placed on the shoe. The shoes come in two color variations: silver metallic calfskin with blue light black calfskin (shown here) or white light multi-colored suede tangerine with blue light calfskin. Clearly these shoes are more gimmicky and don’t fully represent what will undoubtedly be much more practical, less kitschy shoes that’ll appeal to a larger audience of stylish women. While these sandals are undeniably fashion-forward on the cusp of all things trendy, I would be hard pressed to find a truly style-setter flicking the on switch while out at a club or dinner. I think the blue/black/silver color combo is simply gorgeous–but I’d save the light show for the bedroom or pajama party.

I am torn about these dangerous looking pumps.

From a distance, I love them. They are sexy, chic and even dainty looking. However, up-close they are hard and don’t really seem to flow together. It even looks a bit like they decided to slap some studs on it as an afterthought.

That being said, I don’t hate the studs. I think with the right outfits these shoes could really work. I just think with the delicate nature of the pump the studs are a bit confusing. I get the sense that these are just trying a bit too hard to be something they aren’t. Like Miley Cyrus in the Can’t Be Tamed video…

Denim and cork shoes are huge for Spring 2011 and though I’ve always felt that denim belong on your body, I have to admit the Deroba from Louboutin is not half bad.  The master of the red soles added details like leather zipper pull and impeccable contrast stitching that give them a casual chic feel (does it it justify the $595 price?) and honestly– if you’re going to do denim shoes, you need to do Loubs cuz anything else might look cheap.  I do love the cork platform, however.  So much lighter than any other material and has a bounce to it that is easy on the joints. 

But please, do not wear these with acid wash jeans.   What do you think?  Snob or Slob?

The Prada platform sandal will certainly get you noticed, and if you are my height (5″6 give or take a few centimeters) these will make you tall enough to see over the crowd at any event and spot the cutest guy there, or your ex so you can beeline it for the opposite side of the room and hide behind the coats.

These shoes are bold; there is no doubt about it. They come in both turquoise and black and are soft suede which really makes these pumps stand out.

I fancy the turquoise more than I do the black, because it makes the suede pop and looks more fun and spring like. I think if you are going to do a large platform strappy sandal like this, than go for color and go all out.

These make me think of Chiquita Banana for some reason, and I’m picturing myself wearing these with fruit on my head, and now I’m hungry.

The Casadei Satin Triple-Platform Pump will certainly boost your step and add that extra 6 inches you’ve been wanting for Christmas.

This satin pump is gorgeous. I love the gold shimmer coloring and it is perfect for this time of year to wear with the black, red and sparkly dresses of the season.

I can see these matched with this gorgeous one-shoulder silk-charmeuse dress. I can also see me wearing this outfit to a star studded event and everyone saying how pretty my shoes are and the paparazzi chasing me as I hop in my limo and flee from the crowd.

Now here is a snazzy twist on the winter bootie that I love.

The Alexandre Birman Python Three-Strap Bootie is covered in exotic python and has three-straps combined with a sneaky concealed platform.

I like these pumps because they are different. So many of the booties begin to look the same season after season, but these have a nice little kick to them. With the strappy look of a pump and the coverage of a boot, these are more a hybrid shoe-bootie, which is nice for the outfits you want to dress up a notch. They don’t leave your feet too naked but still have the sex appeal of a pump, which is handy especially if you live in New York State or anywhere else that is getting pummeled with snow right now.

The python totally makes the shoe and looks dangerous and sexy. Wear these with a pair of skinny jeans and a men’s style white button up (because I am a sucker for that look with some red lips and sparkly clutch).

Charlotte Olympia is one of my favorites. I think her designs are unique and beautiful and I love the bold use of color and texture. This however, this is not on my top ten list of Charlotte Olympia must haves.

I’m not a huge fan of white pumps in general. My experience with them has been that they are hard to pull off without looking tacky and are absolutely impossible to keep clean, especially if you have ever taken public transportation in your life (I stepped in a carton of fries covered in ketchup while wearing a pair of camel suede pumps on the subway once, no lie).

I do love the ultra feminine ruffle fan back detail on these; it packs a subtle punch and would look great with a simple cocktail dress, but the platform is a little much for me combined with the white. That is saying a lot because my motto is usually the higher, the better, but in this case, I have to pass.

What do you guys think? Are these just too much, or just enough?

Going to an appointment at Jason Wu’s studio is always an exciting experience. Aside from the art and coffee table books abound–not to mention the little owl accoutrements decorating the sleek space–there’s, of course, the fabulous product. To wit, take these two shoes from Jason’s pre-fall collection: one, an $895 pump made of tobacco and black suede and calf skin, is the essential chic power woman’s heel. Always there to infuse an extra touch, note the distinguishing cigarette heel. And the other, also $895, a calf skin sandal in a trio of colors–red, salmon and Bordeaux–that stylishly clasps at the ankle. Essentially what you have here is a day shoe and a cocktail heel; they’re quite the perfect complement to each other, wouldn’t you say?
