I just bought these and my only regret is that I did not choose next day shipping. I have been looking for casual boots that are a bit more refined than true badass biker boots. But even so, I am quite shocked that Burberry can be as hip as this, if I was not clicking around aimlessly I would never have considered Burberry for the boots I had in mind. It was the smallest of details that sealed the deal for me, the black hardware on the buckles! If they were silver, it would not have that certain edge. The back has a zipper going all the way up with another buckle at the top. It’s also 40 degrees here in Southern California, so for a girl born on a tropical island I am freezing my bejeezus off, so the shearling lining was another plus. Warm feet = warm everything. I’m really mad at myself for not expediting the shipping in time for my weekend in New York. Must call tomorrow to see if this can be fixed. On sale at Saks Fifth Avenue for <strike>$995</strike>, $695.99.
Valentine’s Day may still be a few months away, but with Natalie Portman’s “Black Swan” opening this week, what better time than now to snag yourself a new pair of chic, comfortable ballet flats? YSL takes this notion to new heights with its new “Love Ballerina” in a variety of patent leather colors. Note the cut out heart shape (the heart being a YSL icon) that not only adds character to the new ballerinas, but a whimsical touch to boot. Additional features include an oversized logo insole (for those seeking a subtle approach to wearing designer merch), a square toe that keeps to true ballet slipper form while offering plenty of sexy toe cleavage and a leather sole that keeps these slip-ons slick. For those price conscious shoppers looking for a stylish gift without breaking the bank, these are guaranteed to be a universal treat!

$485, available at YSL boutiques

Anyway, this sale just started so all the good stuff is still there.

I can’t believe I’m typing this… but I don’t… like… these… shoes. GASP!

I love pretty much everything Louboutin does. Even if everyone else thinks it’s over the top or too much, I’m usually still on the front lines salivating over it.

But these… these just don’t do it for me. In theory I should love them; they are glittery, shimmery, sparkly and all things pretty. I just can’t get over the pointed toe and overall shape of the shoe.

For me, flats with pointed toes are difficult to pull off. They are a sharp statement and don’t always look great on everyone. Flats obviously don’t give you any extra boost, and adding a pointed toe makes me look like I’m wearing witch shoes. Yes, I love the Sanderson Sisters as much as the next girl and Hocus Pocus is in my top ten favorite movies of all time, but that doesn’t mean on any given day I’d like to dress like them.

My other confusion with these are, in some jobs (pretty much those who don’t work in fashion) wearing a spark-tastic shoe like this to the office would be very odd. They look like an evening shoe, but are flats. No one I know would wear a flat with a fancy dress. So where and for what would I slip these babies on for? My birthday? Perhaps. But that’s only (unfortunately) once a year (for a week) and that’s not much wear for the $575 price tag.

I’m curious to hear what you guys think of these? Would you wear them? If so, how and to where?

You can find these @ Barneys.

Everyone needs at least one pair of peep toe ankle boots in their shoe closet these days. Even though it seems like an oxymoron, you still cannot deny their cuteness, and these are no exception.

The Pedro Garcia Chenoa leather peep-toe ankle boots are sexy and fun with a touch of danger. The leather mixed with the cork platform is a surprising but chic mix. The textured print is gorgeous as well. You could easily rock these to work as well as out for a night of sex drugs and rock and roll followed by consuming many pieces of pizza then falling asleep sitting up in your recliner watching Golden Girls.

What’s that you ask? You want to know the best party about these booties? We’ll I’ll give you two; First- you keep these babies on with VELCRO. YES! The fold-over flap in the front is Velcro-fastening. Amazing.

The second best part of Pedro’s Bootie? They are a steal for $475 at Net-A-Porter.

More T trap and Cork you say? Bring it on.

Oh good, a new chunky platform wedge, just in time for Thanksgiving, yummy. The Chloé T-Strap Platform Cork Wedge Sandals are going on my wish list this year. Casual yet sexy, they are high and mighty with a twist of fun.

The front cutouts are edgy, but the overall look of the shoe is as sweet as candy. This would be a perfect shoe for a shopping day out and about or a casual dinner by the beach. These would go perfect with a pair of high waisted shorts and a high necked crew tee.

However, these are NOT the perfect shoe to wear while singing karaoke on top of a bar while wearing a fireman’s helmet, which I was recently photographed doing in shoes much like these. Looking back, it’s dangerous, and I advise against it.

To me, there’s nothing quite like stomping around on a wedge of cork while drinking a glass of bubbly and feeling fabulous (and safe, on the ground). I think everyone should do this at least once a week. Add that to Emma’s tips on living pretty.

Snatch these up at Saks for $690.

If Audrey Hepburn was a shoe, she would be the Manolo Blahnik Campy; Classic, timelessly beautiful and as elegant as a swan.

The shiny patent leather Mary Jane pump is to die for, and I’m a huge fan. There is nothing I want more than to put these shoes on with a long sleeved black cashmere dress paired with a little sparkly headband and skip off to church for midnight mass. Why you ask? I’ll tell you why, because church is chopped full of great looking men on Christmas Eve. Seriously- try it this year. I also like to say Happy Birthday to the big guy, and there’s usually candy at church, and there’s always wine.

This shoe practically sings Christmas Carols. It’s the perfect splash of holiday color that you need this time of year. No matter where you wear these little red pumps, they will carry you with style and undeniable taste.

Want to treat yourself to an early Christmas present? Then head over to Barneys and pick these up for $645.

Need a glamorous pick me up during the colder dark months of winter? Here is your fix.

The Giuseppe Zanotti Snakeskin-embossed T-bar platform sandals are fantastic. They are sexy, classic and as feminine as they come. The cool cream snakeskin-embossed leather is flawless and the sky high heel gives it a kick of sex appeal in an otherwise sweet and innocent shoe.

I love a good t-bar. I also love super high heels, and these definitely fit the bill. The daintiness of the straps is what sends me over the edge. They are so lady like, yet with a purr of sex kitten.

I can completely picture myself jetting off on a mid winter escape and packing these along with a sexy little wrap dress and a bright red clutch, or possibly strolling by the pool (because who doesn’t wear giant heels to a pool when on vacation) flirting with the pool boy wearing this adorable vintage looking bikini that I instantly fell in love with.

Pick these up at Net-A-Porter for $595 and get your glam on girl.

In the shoe category, Hermès footwear has never been known for being cutting edge. But while the spring collection designed by Pierre Hardy isn’t going to jump start any new trends, the ante has been upped plenty in the last few years. At the company’s showroom on Friday, I previewed these beauties: the contrasting saffron and blue suede is both gorgeous and rich. Look closely and you’ll see some trademark Hermès hardware affixed to the ankle strap and the toe bridge. I just think they’re a very pretty pair of shoes that most women–regardless of whether or not they have the funds to afford–will find appealing. Just be careful where you step in these shoes; yes, that heel is completely made of suede.

Looking for the perfect office holiday party shoe? You must get the “Maggie” from Christian Louboutin. These are the ultimate power shoes, I felt tough just trying them on. Stomp by the mean girls and they’ll never cross you again (and if they do, at least you have these shoes to comfort you). The hidden platform is key in a stiletto pump this high, the pitch is not as high as it appears and quite comfortable. And hello, how amazing is the metal toe?? It’s not only rock star worthy, it is also very functional- it acts like an armor for the suede front of the shoe. SO convenient should you accidentally kick someone.

Now here is a smartly done, two toned leather and suede bootie that I can get my butt behind.

The Fiorentini + Baker Nelly boot is cute, well put together, and is a great option for work, trips to the grocery store, and while window shopping on a Saturday.

Everyone needs a boot they can go to when all else fails and they need to be in a meeting in 20 minutes and they realize they left their favorite pumps at their lovers house and tall boots will look stupid with the longer skirt they want to throw on.

Well, here is your go to boot for those occasions. It’s not that you couldn’t wear these boots out at night; it’s just that you most likely wouldn’t. The heel isn’t too high so they would be comfortable for long periods of time and the laces make it casual but classic which makes it wearable with a ton of looks. They don’t exactly scream sex and they aren’t the most eye-catching thing I’ve ever seen, but for your day needs, they can be a comfortable alternative.

Pick them up at Barneys for $410.00

Personally, I am not a huge fan of shoes that don’t have a “wow” factor in some respect, and to me, these just say, meh.

It’s not that I hate them, because I don’t. They are classic looking. I enjoy wooden pumps, and I’m sure these could be worn a number of different ways with a number of different outfits. I just cannot see myself wearing them, or advising my friend to but them.

One of the reasons for this is that I think the Pedro Garcia Debbie calf hair and wooden sandals are supremely unflattering to anyone with even the slightest bit of a normal body type. On a supermodel, sure they would work. I mean, Bar Refaeli would look good with tea cups glued to her boobs, wearing a lobster hat and a tutu, but that isn’t the case with everyone else. These shoes are high (3.5 inches) but have a low slope to them given the platform height, so they are just making you taller, not necessarily giving you that drop that elongates you. Remember – there is a difference between looking taller and looking longer. You’re kind of just carrying around large blocks of unflattering wood. Not so sexy.

The other factor is that the straps are very, well, ordinary and boring. I mean sure, it’s a warm weather sandal with black straps and gold studs and it is wearable, and versatile, but extremely forgettable.

What I’m getting at, is that I feel like I’ve seen this sandal in a million department stores before and every time I see it it’s blah, and this version of it is equally as enticing.

Available at Net-A-Porter for $490

There is something to be said for versatility. More options give you more wear out of a piece. More wear out of a piece justifies the price you pay for it, especially if that price tag is $1,030.00.

These suede booties are certainly versatile. They are cute, lace up as well as zip, and you could pair them with about 3,000 outfits.

What I really like about these is that they have a cuff inset at the top line allowing you to make them a taller or short bootie. This is a super useful feature that can transform your winter outfit from cute to sexy and from day wear to night. Taking you from Blitzen to Vixen in no time flat, because we all know Vixen is obviously the hottest reindeer.

Well what do we have here? Could it be-the rare and unusual fur-sandal-wedge creature? These are hard to come by and are only spotted in a few select places- like on the real housewives of New Jersey.

I’m not sure who thinks this is a good idea anywhere in the world, but it’s just not. When you want to put on a sandal you want a sandal. You don’t want a giant mop of fur hiding the sandal so you can’t even tell what it is. When you want to wear fur you usually don’t want it in sandal form, because you wear fur in the colder months and sandals aren’t appropriate.

The Opening Ceremony fur wedge sandal booties just don’t make much sense. I can’t think of one instance where they would work. Something this outlandish could only be pulled off by someone like Snooki, as long as she’s wearing them with her diamond encrusted sunglasses with an extra large poof.

If these are your cup of tea, pick them up at Shopbop for $520.00

Say what you may snobby ones, I know Reed Krakoff is the head designer for Coach. My only question is why he doesn’t design awesome bags and shoes, like these for Coach. But why should I care, I had to have these!! I walked in to Saks and almost fell over when I saw these – love at first sight!! The buckles are so simple actually but completely unique. These shoes were made for me, it is somewhere between tom-boy and girl power. I go nuts over flat boots, that’s just me, high heel boots are not my thing and you can see here how well it works (there is a heel version of this boot and it does not have it going on). Well now that I look at my credit card bill, I do care about the label behind this – it would obviously be much nicer if these were Coach prices. But they’re not too bad, at Reed Krakoff and Saks Fifth Avenue stores for $1195.

My first impression: these are going to be hard to pull off. While I love the color combinations of two of the pairs–black and green, hot pink and tan–the third verges of looking cheap due to the extra height of leather straddling the top of the ankle. The polished toe is very chic (love a cute round toe!) but it should end right at the lower ankle. Yes, these shoes are nice to look at it–but you have to pretty much have long, lean legs to pull off these shoes; otherwise they’ll actually cut your legs and make you look short and stubby. I would definitely advise the ladies to opt for the safer Mary Jane version and use the money saved to indulge in a pair of gloves.

New short do or not, I’ve always thought of Emma Watson as a girly girl. She has that innocence to her that only comes with youth, and I like that she dresses sweet yet always fashion forward. She also knows how to mix hard and soft–witness the Robert Clergerie “Devi” black patent leather Mary Janes she wore at a photo call in London. A simple stacked heel and ankle strap are all that is needed to offset a slightly tougher dress and choker necklace. It’s a nice juxtaposition that a pair of black stilettos would not have achieved (it also would’ve aged her considerably). Perhaps the best part of the shoes? Clergerie is a very comfortable shoe brand, so there’s no feeling sorry for her feet this time!
