When I think of sexy, “ballerina flat” does not exactly jump to my mind. It is rare to find a sexy flat, let alone a sultry ballerina flat. But Lanvin has found a way to jazz up an adorable favorite and turn it into a wear-anywhere- saucy little number.

The patent-python flat actually has a concealed heel standing one inch tall. But it’s hard to actually spot the heel so everyone will just think you look a little taller and thinner on the day’s you slip these baby’s on (a definite plus).

The exotic dark color of the brown python is rich and delicious. These are perfect for the days at the office where- for the love of god- you just can’t bear to put the pumps on again. Or for a day date out for lunch where you don’t want to look like you’re trying too hard, but you don’t want to wear a pair of clunky boots.

Flats are essential in any girls shoe closet, but not all are created equal. The Lanvin patent-python flats won’t make you sacrifice style for comfort.

Be fab & flat and scoop them at Net-A-Porter for $1,045

At first I was like, “Holy Frankfurter drag queen!!” But then I see that the height is all in the platform and the incline is really quite mild. But still, Holy Hella High, if you step wrong or have one too many martinis, your ankles will be in a cast for 4-6 weeks. The leather is buttery soft and provides cushion and comfort as it straps tightly to your foot. I love the design of the straps but as a whole I am far from sure about these, it’s not feminine and not nearly fabulous enough for the risk. It’s just too clunky and oddly proportioned.
Okay, seriously, I am all for wearing things that are out there and that push the envelope, but I cannot think of one circumstance as to when I would wear this boot.

The calf hair thigh-high boots feature tiger print in front with giraffe print in back, which is a bold move. Mixing animal prints is tough enough, but mixing animal prints on over the knee spiked boots is wild, and not in a good way.

I do, however, love the 5 inch cone-shaped heel. Actually, I like the entire shape of the boot along with the light brown trim with the curved top. Unfortunately, the shape alone cannot win me over on this one.

I suppose if I was Gisele, with massively long tiny legs and I paired it with a very dark (or all black) outfit, there is a possibility that this could be pulled off if worn to the right event… like on a safari, or to a strip club.

But alas, I’m not married to Tom Brady, and my legs happen to be the shortest part of my body (damn you long torso) and I do not have any safari strip club trips planned. So realistically, these boots aren’t … well… realistic.

Would you dare wear the Tigeraffe boots? If so, where to?

ROBERTO CAVALLI Thigh-high calf hair boots for $4,240

The First Lady definitely knows how to “rough it” in style. At this week’s White House Kitchen Garden Fall Harvest festival, the ever stylish Michelle Obama opted for a rugged yet chic pair of black leather boots over rubber Wellies or traditional gardening boots while meeting with local schoolchildren as she worked in the gardens. First featured on Shoe Snob back in August, the Tory Burch Connell boot Michelle sported are the perfect hybrid of country-cum-city. Whether you’re hitting the pavement or, as the First Lady demonstrated, doing some work around the “house,” you can look great and be comfortable to boot. Never one to forget the small details, note the double rope of chains that add just the right amount of oomph to an otherwise classic and sturdy boot. Available at Tory Burch boutiques in the U.S. and on the Web site Monday, Tory’s fans in Rome, Italy can try on the boots for themselves: the designer’s new 2,800-square-foot boutique–her first in Europe–just opened on Via del Babuino, not far from the Spanish Steps. A London flagship on New Bond Street, meanwhile, will bow in December.

$495, available at Tory Burch boutiques and Toryburch.com

I’m starting to tire of two trends in shoes: peep toe booties and studs, what about you? Platforms, however, I will never get sick of and though these Rock & Republic studded booties aren’t terrible I think it would have been a better shoe had it been made with covered toes and a tad less studding. I do like the unexpected use of gray suede instead of the usual black, totally softens the look and for $375 you’ll be the trendiest chick on the dance floor.

While everyone has on leopard print, you will stand out with this negative space zebra pattern that is just as unique and ingenious as you are! The design of this is astoundingly brilliant. The pieces are held together ever so cleverly so it looks like it is floating when you have it on. The shoe molds to your foot which is essential for the proper effect. The crystals are a standout embellishment that takes it from kitschy to fashion-y. Most novelty shoes are impossible to wear but these can go with just about anything, these are like your black slingbacks that you wear out every season! At Neiman Marcus for $1275.

I had no idea Kooba made shoes until I visited the showroom in NYC a couple of weeks ago and I certainly had no clue how cool the shoes were. I almost forgot to look at the bags as I tried on several pairs, determined to find one that fit (I felt like the evil stepsister of Cinderella as I plowed through pair after pair)!
I finally found a pair of Winona samples in my size and of course came home with them (they feel like running shoes!). But now I’m coveting the Orly (left) and Marylin (right) boots as well(there is no satiating a greedy heart). The Orly boots are boho chic with fold over top and tassel ties, perfect for daily use and running after my kid. The Marylin are a bit more streamlined and over the knee sexy but just as comfortable with cushiony wedges. Tell me, how does a shoe snob choose between these two!?!?!? At these prices, I’m thinking both pairs are in order. What about you?

I walked by these booties at FortyFiveTen (the coolest boutique in Dallas), grabbed them off the display, tried one on and shouted “I’ll take these”. Not missing a single beat while chatting with a friend and holding on to my 6 year old at the same time. A professional shoe shopper you say? Absolutely. I know what I like and make my shoe decisions within seconds of seeing a shoe that needs to live in my shoe closet. I’ve been an Alejandro Ingelmo shoe addict for years, remember the two pairs of booties I scooped up last year? No one makes edgier, sexier shoes at these price points. And you’d be surprised at how comfortable they are, too. The Crosby booties above have a hidden platform that make these wedges a lot easier to walk then they appear. I wore them out Friday night with skinny black jeans and they made my legs look sleek and long. Obsessed! $595 at Alejandro Ingelmo Crosby Booties at FortyFiveTen

Size tip: I went half a size up as I usually do with boots or booties.

As an expert bridesmaid (3 this summer alone and another one coming

up next month) I found that shoes were on the brides mind very early on

in the planning stages. Should they go with blue, should they stick with

white, what if the heel is too high, what if they are too sexy, what if

they don’t show, what if they show too much? The questions just kept

coming. With today’s photography often focusing on the brides shoes, my

friends also were concerned about how the shoe would look in photos.

Through the relentless searching during wedding season, I found a few favorites that all brides involved found fabulous.

Here are my top ten picks of shoes that will make any bride say: “hell yes, I do.”

Going from left to right, the first four are Christian Louboutin, then

Jimmy Choo. Starting off the second column is the Manolo Blahnik Carrie

wore in SATC2, then Alexander McQueen, followed by Pedro Garcia, Fendi,

and last but not least, Valentino.

Flowers, Bows and Hardware, Oh My!

Well isn’t this a piece of work. No seriously, this looks like it took a lot of work. Look at the detail on the silver flowers, the little silver hardware bow in front and the soft crepe natte covering the shoe until it reaches the studded square toe.

I think these shoes are the bee’s knees (love saying that). These are chic, smart and even sensible with a 4 1/4″ covered heel and a padded leather insole.

The Miu Miu Runway Flower Pump is perfect for the office. These would go flawlessly with a tight pencil skirt and some cute Ray Ban vintage Buddy Holly-looking glasses (which I just bought!).

For anyone who has seen the movie, P.S. I Love You; do you think they look like the shoes the main character (played by Hilary Swank) was designing near the end of the film? That’s immediately what came to mind when I first saw these. They are the same shape with similar hardware detail.

You can pick this pretty shoe bouquet up at Net-a-Porter for $990

If there is something every girl should have at least once in her life, it’s gold studded lizard pumps. With little gold studding all over the blush leather straps combined with exotic lizard, this sexy, strappy number takes luxury to a whole new level.

The detail on this shoe is what really makes it special. The lizard print is also on the heel which I love, and the studs go almost around the entire shoe.

You could easily wear these for work or play. Lizard translates easily from day to night.

Personally, I’m a fan of 5 inch + minimum heel with somewhat of a platform, but I think these are just too cute to pass up. What they lack in height, they make up for in sheer style.
When I think of Shaggy, I think of carpets, dogs, un-manscaped men, and the 90′s singer/rapper (it wasn’t me).

When I think of beards I think of my dad, because he has one.

What I don’t think of, is sexy footwear. But, my eyes were opened by Alexander Wang and his Goat -Bearded shaggy boots.

Made from natural goat hair and draped on a 10″H tall leather boot, this is certainly a statement piece. With topstitching on the pointed toe above a large 2″ leather-covered platform and a 5 1/2″ stacked spike heel, these boots are made for walking. And when I say walking, I mean stomping from high elevations. They are pull on’s, which is unique for such tall/spiked boots. These are awesome for fall/winter and would toughen up any outfit.

Who knew goats were chic?

Available at Bergdorf Goodman for $925.00

Practicality flies out the window when faced with a pair of amazing Lanvin cutout booties! So the boat shaped platform is hard to walk in, (especially with a thin heel) but they are so cool looking it’s (almost) worth the risk of slipping and falling to public humiliation. The top of our feet is the prettiest part so why not show them off! Trust me, this is so much sexier than toe cleavage.
And don’t think that you have to live in SoCal to wear these, northeast residents only need to add heavy tights and you’re good to go.

Spotted: super cute cutout pumps by Lanvin on Blake “everything I wear is awesome” Lively. These little booties are dreamy. Of course, most everything that comes into Blake’s possession is dreamy. Actually, I’m not even sure she’s real anymore. I’m gonna go with that. Anyway- these booties will lift you up with a 5 inch heel and a 1 inch platform. They are dressy but subtle and can easily transition from a boring day at the office to a fabulous event on the town. Paired with a stunning Stella McCartney sequined dress and an embellished Jay Ahr blazer, this is a flawless Gossip Girl look. From one side, they look like a regular pump. But check it out from the outside- a boot! Two shoes in one! Very tricky, but also very versatile, which always comes in handy. I love this boot paired with the brown ribbed tights. So cute and this look is so hot for fall.

Is it just me, or do these shoes scream playschool? And I don’t mean in a bad way. I feel like I had a pair of these when I was 7 playing in my room pretending that I was a pop star (damn you Britney) while singing into my hairbrush. The colors make it look like they belong on a shelf next to Barbie’s corvette and an easy-bake oven (do they still have those.. I hope?). Made by Junko Shimada for their spring-summer 2011 ready-to wear collection, they popped down the runway in Paris and brightened everyone’s day. These make me feel like a spring day in the middle of fall. They are stacked high and I have to say, when you look straight at the shoe, the platform looks weird. Nonetheless, I think they are cute and I want to put them on top of a cupcake. You know what would have bumped them to awesome status? Velcro. Now that would be kickin it old school for real.

Be still my heart. I can’t even handle these shoes. I can barely look at the photos without hating my closet for not having these inside of it. Good god they are gorgeous. Sergio Rossi has created a variation of the boring, run of the mill gladiator heel and sculpted a super sexy hybrid sandal/boot/peep toe masterpiece. I just adore the feather and bead detail on the top of the front section. Selena Gomez skipped down the blue carpet in the nude version of them at the 2010 Teen Choice awards, and Valeria Solarino simply owned everyone’s ass at 67th Venice Film Festival with the dark brown pair. She looks flawless pairing the killer pumps with a capped sleeved Herve Leger number that underlines the fact that I don’t go to the gym enough. Personally, I prefer the darker version to the nude pair. Even though nude elongates the leg, the deep brown just absolutely jumps out at me with this particular design. Maybe it’s Valeria’s amazing tan, or her tiny legs, but something about her and this pump just clicks. Sergio Rossi Borderline sandal here.

If you need me, I’ll be on the floor melting over these, plotting ways to make them forever mine.
