It’s all about a cage-strapped sandal for spring. Shown on the runway in a myriad of rich colors–my favorite being the blue whose shade was reminiscent of Moroccan tiles–it was like an explosion of the feet! The profile the sandals created on the runway made for a lasting impression. I was also loving the velvet heels trimmed with gold python; if they don’t scream Sharon Stone in “Casino,” I don’t know what does! The verdict’s out on the extreme bondage sandals and even more extreme peep-toe boots that came down the runway. What’s a woman to think? To wear? Sure they’re beautiful creations that’ll no doubt attract its fair share of customers, but is that the kind of clientele Gucci really wants at this stage in the game? Whatever happened to heritage?
