Marc Marc Marc. Stop teasing me with your mixed signals. Is it a sneaker? Is it a pump? Is it a saddle shoe? I don’t underst- wait- it’s.. both? (my world crumbles).

Very rarely have I seen sneaker-pump hybrids that I enjoy. I usually only see combos like these on the scary parts of town with more rubber on them than a cross trainer, but these flirt casual with dress and actually do it well. A lot of times these look amazing on the runway but then at home you feel like either you need to lose 50 pounds to recreate the look, or you’ve just dropped $1,000 dollars on another closet ornament. But the combination of the wood and the dark yellow is an instant classic. And the neutrals in the sneaker pump make it actually wear-able. You could wear these more then once, yes! And on the off-chance that someone should swipe my purse, I will be able to chase them more comfortably. Bonus.

I am absolutely smitten with these shoes. Smitten, I tell you. Ever since I saw these on the Fall 2010 runway, I have been waiting with bated breath for them to arrive in stores. And they’re finally here! First, the facts: the heel measures about 6 inches with a 1 inch curved platform; the round toe allows for a simple slip on, and the fabulously fierce trim on back is ’70s-inspired goat hair. While there was an electric blue version shown on the runway as well, the classic black suede manages to be both timeless and edgy without seeming dated. These babies will look as hot with a fitted skirt suit by Dries Van Noten as they will a ballgown by Dior. Don’t be afraid to mix and match it up, ladies. These shoes are designed to be an exclamation point! Just be forewarned by Bag Snob Tina’s womanly words of advice: “thick ankles beware!”

Yes, I am talking about Blake Lively. The shoe is as gorgeous as she is and will make you tall, blonde, willowy and best friends with Anna Wintour. Just kidding. But it can’t hurt. This little gem was discovered by Blake herself while she was in Paris filming Gossip girls. After a sexy scooter ride around the city of lights with Louboutin himself, he brought her back to his laboratory of magic where she came across his latest concoction. She loved it so much she wanted to “sleep with it under her pillow every night.”

Silly Blake, you put teeth under your pillow, you put these treasures, in the mail, to me.

The big, almost starling, news for spring? The platforms of seasons past has disappeared! Yes, you heard right. No more of those outlandish, glitzy platforms that looked more at home on the Jersey Shore boardwalk than sailing on Lake Como. Good riddance! That doesn’t mean that Donatella’s dumbed herself down when it comes to sky-high footwear; instead she delivered a vertigo-inducing 4.5-inch stiletto heel on a flat sole in well-conceived colors that will appeal to fashion-forward women everywhere. These are shoes that the Louboutin and Pierre Hardy-wearing crowd will actually give a second look at–and that says a lot. My favorite is, without a doubt, the heels that wrap around the ankle echoing the martingale belts.

Made in Italy and designed by Italian stylist Alberto Guardiani, the Alberto Guardiani Fall 2010 line consists of five capsule collections. The brand makes shoes for men and kids as well and they control the process from start-to-finish – including the finishing atélier where everything is hand-made. Clearly the brand takes the artisan quality of their shoes – even the sportier styles – very seriously.

For Fall 2010 the stand-out shoe is most definitely the lipstick heel pictured above (Katy Perry is a fan…surprise, surprise!). I have a KJL necklace with a lipstick pendant on it that looks just like the heel of this shoe and I always get complements on it when I wear it out. I have no doubt that these shoes would be equally as conversation starting! Sure, they’re a little bit ridiculous, but they’re so fun and unique that I could totally see myself wearing them. How about you? Too kooky for you or just right? Aside from the lipstick pump, I’ve pictured a few of my other favorites from the collection. Check-out all the styles here!

Ladies, make room in your shoe closets: Pucci heels are a comin’. Peter Dundas has been, season after season, building a better Pucci and what better brand extension to complement his smokin’ hot designs than some equally covetable stem wear? Right off the bat there was a sexy, above-the-knee suede lace-up boot whose laces traced up the frontside of the model’s leg with a sneaky peep-toe reveal. While these clearly won’t be for everyone, they were done stylishly enough that I bet a few ladies will venture into the wild side for these. As a secondary option, there’s also a pair of refined suede boots that zip up the back that is equally as glam–minus the bare of flesh. My favorite pair in the collection, however, is the braided gladiator stiletto set with a chic leather toe ring. Available in leather or python, it’s bound to be a party girl’s “It” shoe of the season: the straps sexily wrap up the ankle like a snake while a metal disc keeps the foot securely fastened. Pack these babies and your bikini and it’s next stop, Ibiza!

I never met a neon strip of leather I didn’t like. So you can imagine how I gravitated towards these Roger Vivier sandals upon spying them in the showroom. Neon green strips of leather surround the core of the foot like a cage, flanked by black leather toe and ankle strap while the base is a beautiful teal satin. The height on this heel is actually reasonable (this, coming from a guy) and I think it’d be very chic paired with wide leg jeans or trousers. I always enjoy seeing just a hint of color on a woman’s feet as she walks; the mystery is more alluring than being in-your-face. And as fashion forward as these heels may appear at first, they’re actually quite suitable for all ages.

Before I go any further, can I just wax poetic on how HOT Miuccia’s take on the classic men’s wingtips are? Like, seriously, OMG! I wish Prada did a men’s version of these for me to attempt to wear. While I don’t need any extra height (I’m 6’1), I do think my guy friends who are 5’10 and under will give these a serious look. These might be a nice look with my cropped Thom Browne suit, no? But I digress…

When it wasn’t about a wedge–and boy were they high–it was all about a raffia Mary Jane. Festooned in every single color under the sun, they were schizophrenic but in a good way. I personally loved the silver Mary Jane wedge; check out that green and black striped heel! It’s bound to be a hit with my editor friends for sure. Miuccia certainly worked her magic with textures for spring in a creative yet practical way. The cork mixed with cushioned foam with rubber will certainly be eye-catching when they finally hit the ground running–at least they’ll be super comfortable!

After doing the shoes for the William Tempest show my friend Deborah Lyons jetted off to London for London Fashion Week where some of her latest designs were featured on the Elizabeth Emanuel runway (Emanuel, you might recall, is the designer responsible for Princess Diana’s legendary wedding dress). This season Emanuel’s collection was titled “Little Black Dress,” so it was only fitting that Lyons offered her take on the classic black pump to complement the designer’s dresses.

Above and below are some images that Lyons snapped herself – totally loving the shoes above! So futuristic-ly sexy, but in a classic way – I’d say these are more for the Chanel lady, while the Ruthie Davis ones, which I also loved and would call futuristic and sexy, are more for the Balenciaga woman…me? I’d take both any day!

*Side note: Leighton Meester was spotted on the set of Gossip Girl in the “Domino” shoe – pictured all the way on the bottom – in nude, so watch out for it on an upcoming episode!

Finally: L’Wren Scott for the masses. Sort of. No, Mick Jagger’s lady love hasn’t teamed up with H&M or Target–yet. Rather, the runway shoes she presented alongside her fall ready-to-wear line back in February has hit stores for the first time ever. Now you can own the footwear to match that body-hugging dress. Fittingly enough, both styles are takes on boots: one, a show-stoppingly dramatic over-the-knee lace 100mm heel boot, in black and nude, will require plenty of extra time to lace up (no zips here, ladies); the other is a lace-up ankle boot with teardrop cut-out detail, also in 100mm heel, available in black and dark grey. The latter is perfect for everyday use, from work to cocktails. The former? Only those with legs for miles need apply.

Over-the-knee boot, $2,725, and cut-out ankle boot, $1,675, available at Barneys New York, select stores, and barneys.com

Simple and fuss free. Blame it on all the time Tomas Maier spends in Florida (not the glitzy, club-hopping Sunshine State but, rather, that other Florida), but his spring Bottega Veneta shoe collection is as cool as a cucumber. Completing the easy-going spirit of the spring collection was a lineup of shoes that comfort as its prime beauty. Flat sandals were a mainstay of the lineup, offering a studied presence, while reasonably high slingback heels of the elegant cross-strapped kind should be the perfect finishing touch for that LWD. And for the real intrepid Bottega clientele? The chalk white peep-toe leather bootie should more than suffice.

Colorblocking appeared to be the name of the game when it came to the runway shoes at Fendi. Gone were the cringe-inducing stilettos and wobbly platforms; in their place are sensible heel heights that should prove to be a sigh of relief for those Fendi loyalists. The moderate heels came affixed to shoes in sensible textures like wood, leather and cork. While the cork heels were a nice spring touch, the shoes–save the platforms–were a bit disappointing. It’s not that I want women to suffer for their fashion, but there could have been something more tantalizing to show. The platforms, like I said, were my favorite; I love the slingback with the two slim straps.

Lace may be feminine but you mean all business with these edgy girly pumps on. Boys will be intrigued but they will not mess with you. That may be good or bad depending on your agenda. McQueen does lace right, some are just too delicate and too much like hosiery. The toe detail with the asymmetrical seam is a brilliant twist that gives it the edge. And the rounded toe makes it less obvious, most designers do a pointed toe with lace but that just makes it too burlesque. You can definitely pile on some serious hardware accessories to rock it out. At Neiman Marcus for $935.

Tod’s has entered into a fabulous year-long collaboration with Teatro alla Scala, the home of opera and ballet in Italy, which was celebrated today with the unveiling of “An Italian Dream,” a film directed by Matthias Zentner. The short features 13 ballet dancers from La Scala performing in a piece choreographed by Gianluca Schiavoni. The young performers interpret through dance the multiple steps that take place in the process of making a Tod’s product.

“‘An Italian Dream’ marks the beginning of what I hope will be a long relationship,” said Tod’s Group president Diego Della Valle. “Teatro alla Scala are both passionately Italian and committed to keeping alive skills and traditions that lie at the heart of our culture, and that make the notion of ‘Made in Italy’ so unique. This film illustrates how artistry, attention to detail, commitment and creativity all combine to create something very special.”

The idea behind the partnership, whereby Tod’s has agreed to cover the costs of productions for one year, is rooted in both parties’ respect of craftsmanship and time-tested skills. At La Scala, every set and costume is created entirely by artisans in our theatre’s workshop, while the Della Valle family has been making accessories for three generations at its headquarters in the Marche region of Italy, the traditional home of Italian shoemaking.

It’s all about a cage-strapped sandal for spring. Shown on the runway in a myriad of rich colors–my favorite being the blue whose shade was reminiscent of Moroccan tiles–it was like an explosion of the feet! The profile the sandals created on the runway made for a lasting impression. I was also loving the velvet heels trimmed with gold python; if they don’t scream Sharon Stone in “Casino,” I don’t know what does! The verdict’s out on the extreme bondage sandals and even more extreme peep-toe boots that came down the runway. What’s a woman to think? To wear? Sure they’re beautiful creations that’ll no doubt attract its fair share of customers, but is that the kind of clientele Gucci really wants at this stage in the game? Whatever happened to heritage?

Ok, ok I know: some of you may not be the biggest fans of UGG boots. In fact, they might even gross you out (as multiple message boards would indicate). But this is Shoe Snob, and as much as you may like or dislike these shearling boots, you know you’re curious about them to some degree.

Last night, during Fashion’s Night Out, Jimmy Choo previewed its UGG collection. My verdict? They’re not half bad. Decorated with grommets and stars, they’re clearly for a trendy fashionista type–but before you go spewing “Jersey Shore” jokes, there’s definitely a sense of wearability to them. My favorites are probably the two boots that feature just adornment at the top (the tall one, incidentally, is a Jimmy Choo boutique exclusive). They can be worn everyday and look just like regular boots with a smidget of extra decoration. The leopard UGG boot is also terribly cute; it’ll look quite cozy and at home this winter from Aspen to Gstaad.

$495 to $795, available at Jimmy Choo boutiques

With Fall in full swing we’re in between sandal and bootie season, so what better shoe for this week’s “Guess the Designer” than this awkward fur concoction? Please comment after voting in our poll as I’m curious if I’m the only one who finds this style more heinous and comical, than chic and wearable. I’d love to try these shoes on for fun, because they’re just so crazy looking (sadly in a highly unappealing goth-like way…).

Ahh Lanvin, there is not a shoe lover out there who does not swoon over them. These glamorous boots can make a regular appearance in your everyday life, I mean, what can’t you wear with these? They keep your feet cozy on snowy winter days while you rock your sexiest dress, or even if you’re not in freezing weather, you will still be HOT! The leather is so incredibly soft and with all the stabilizing straps, these are super comfortable. The sole is rounded for easier walking. The platform makes the pitch just right.
